Hey everyone, my name is Connor and this is the beginning of my capstone project for the Launch Your First App program.
My background is in React as a Lead Developer and I’ve been learning iOS for 3 months.
Ultimately, my goal for learning iOS development is I want to build the best writing app of all time!
I’m looking forward to updating this project log as I progress to completing my capstone project!
So I have two ideas at the moment that I want to do:
- A refined tipping calculator that allows a user to round up their tip or total amount
- A type-along app where you can type as you read a classic novel
The tipping calculator seems a little too small so I might knock it out and then try my other idea.
Alright I am going to try and do the typing app. I made some wireframes in figma, and I am trying to utilize the new liquid glass as apart of my design.
As I was building the figma pages I found they were helpful especially with exporting. I had considered using the figma pro version to get the dev mode where I could see the code, but I realized that using the figma export was fine for my needs.
I didn’t complete the wireframe 100% but I realized that I want to get started with building and I will work more on the designs once I get to those pages. I found that I was getting anxious with getting started on something so that’s why I am now building my home screen so that I feel that I am at least partially in progress with the app itself.
I look forward to seeing how this turns out, and what kind of syntax is required to implement liquid glass designs.
