Meenakshi's 100 years quest

Wow, you’re breezing through those modules! I struggled plenty when I did Foundations

You’re going to create amazing apps  Keep it up!

Nice work! Be sure you’re absorbing everything too! Doing too many lessons in a day can get overwhelming

Thank you very much for the motivation :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: Yeah,I suppose I’m sorta getting hooked to the dopamine you get from solving problems  I have to say though, going through your post about how you and your friend are starting a business together, it feels reassuring to know the struggle is real, as someone who’s strayed away from her career path too. I had come across someone else’s journal mentioning your post too and how it inspired them. It fills me with so much hope watching you two succeed and I wish you guys a very many more years of togetherness and best of luck for your journeys ahead :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thank you Ma’am  Yeah, I have to make sure I revise everything in the weekends  The courses are so wonderful here I have a hard time pausing  and I really enjoyed your module on GitHub  I wonder if I could have understood what GitHub was all about with the clarity I have right now, if I were to have explored it on my own. Thank you very much for helping me learn it

Day 15

Completed lesson 14 but decided to take my time and try out different things with regards to lesson 15, so currently that and the final challenge in module 5 are currently pending that I’ll have to work on later this week.

Day 16 & 17
Revised module 2 and module 4 (RecipeApp). Concepts I had to go back to the original code and refresh : Displaying the featured recipes in RecipeFeaturedView, using .sheet modifier on the Button element.

Day 18

Finally completed module 5 and the introductory lessons (Lesson 1 and 2) to module 6 :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
I’m just really happy right now that I actually managed to implement the search bar in the module 5 challenge using SwiftUI instead of UIKit using google searches on my own :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Day 19

Completed lessons 3 and 4 :innocent: Although I did face some issues signing up for Yelp from India, I managed to bypass it using a VPN :innocent: The issue exists only with signing up though so you can turn off the VPN while running the app (I suppose proxyman doesn’t work when the VPN is on, so…)

Day 20 & 21

Completed lessons 5,6 and 7 from module 6 today :innocent:

Day 22
Completed lessons 8 and 9 :innocent: Resolved issues regarding the location not changing when I set the simulator features to custom location (turns out I just had to close the simulator and open it again  ). Also, ended up duplicating my project since for some reason my app seemed to avoid occupying the entire screen space. Creating a new project and copy-pasting the code seemed to fix the issue but I still have no idea what was wrong in the first place though :slightly_frowning_face:

Day 23 and 24
Although I did not even complete a full lesson yesterday, think I made up for it by completing lessons 10,11,12 and 13 today :innocent: All that’s left in module 6 tomorrow is to finish up lesson 14, prepare my notes and that’s it ! Can’t wait to complete the rest of the course and start off the course on designing and the even more exciting one on Databases :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Day 25
Completed module 6 (City Sights App) today and also the modules on Deploying apps to the App Store and adding the categories feature to the Recipes App. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: Now with a fresh mind tomorrow, I’ll start off the course on design :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I’m super excited! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Day 26, 27 and 28

  • Completed Module 1 and Module 2 in the Design Course :innocent:
  • Although I had difficulty figuring out a solution to the challenge in Module 1- lesson 4 on my own and had to resort to looking at the solution code, I’m happy I was able to learn from the whole ordeal in the end :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
  • Also, I did some exploring regarding swipeable lists in iOS 15 Chris mentions in Module 2 - lesson 5 and practiced with the help of a few examples I found online :innocent:

On a sidetone, I should really get myself to update my journal here at the end of everyday

Day 29
Completed lessons 1 and 2 in Module 3 :innocent:

Day 30 and Day 31

Completed Module 3 and Lessons 1 and 2 from Module 4 :innocent:

Day 32 and 33
Completed lesson 3 and revised the LearningApp module by recreating it on my own using hints from my notes.

Day 34,35
Took the days off owing to a medical procedure I had to undergo

Day 36
Completed lessons 4 and 5 in module 4 :innocent:

And I’m back here again, after what’s been more than a year now I suppose . I was so inspired by this platform that I decided to pursue aa college certification in mobile application development. Now that that’s almost done, I’m here to learn even more iOS Development! I’ve recently completed the Unit Testing Module and I’m almost done with the Vapor API module. Think I’ll start posting my progress here again as a way to keep myself accountable and also to connect with fellow iOS developers. And to you who’s been reading my posts, thank you ! Please feel free to reach out

While continuing to learn, you should actually be starting to make your own app! No need to follow a million tutorials!

Make your own app, doesn’t matter if you put it on the App Store or not, but make something not following a tutorial!!!

Also start applying for jobs!
