April 09: Hi everyone, I’m Simon, a QA test engineer with an interest in iOS app development so I’m currently working through the Launch Your First App pathway.
After seeing a number of people have been posting their progress I figured that I’d join in and start posting a journal to track and share my progress.
So far I’ve only worked through the first couple of modules, having completed the Card War game earlier this week and just completed the Menu app as well as the random word challenge app.

Hey Simon, just wanted to say I really enjoyed reading about your iOS journey so far… super inspiring! It’s awesome how you’ve stuck with it and kept pushing through, especially with everything else life throws at us.
I’m on a similar path myself, and seeing posts like yours really helps me stay motivated. That mix of excitement and frustration is all too familiar
but it’s encouraging to know I’m not the only one going through the ups and downs.
Looking forward to hearing more updates from you …keep going, you’re doing great!

I restarted the iOS Foundations course today as it’s been a few months since I have made any progress due to having a lot on with work and almost burning out. Looking to start making some consistent but gradual progress on this course as my end goal is to be able to transition from being a software tester to an iOS developer within the next 2 years, hopefully sooner.
Hey Simon,
Good to have you here. I started my learning in the first week of June. Just finished my 3rd module and working on the challenge.
Looking forward to hearing more updates from you

Completed the war card game and then managed to recreate it again from scratch using a screenshot of the finished app as reference. Looking to start the second module tomorrow.
