Hey!
I’m sure that in all the years since iOS has been around, you’ve come across apps that you’ve simply marveled at. How did they design that? How can it be so beautiful, work so fast, and be so reliable?
At least that’s how I measure “app love”. What are your favorites?
Here’s my list:
- Reeder
- Things
- Matter
- Arc Search
- 1Password
- Chuck
- Craft
- Fantastical
- iA Writer
- Github
- Working Copy
- Flighty
- Readkit
- Gentler Streak
- Blinkist
- Monument Valley 1 and 2
- Holedown
- Rolando
This list is in no particular order. I went through my phone and compiled them one by one. The links are all direct Apple App Store links.
I’ve probably forgotten a few but that’s a pretty solid list
I suppose some of these picks are obvious because they’re well known at this point. Others might be more obscure. What they all have in common is that, for one reason or another, I ENJOY opening and love using them. There’s that “je ne sais quoi” about them, that invisible “delight” of using them — though that’s ironic — because the delight is, literally, on display in the form of visual beauty and practical functionality, in all of them.
These apps represent the level of quality I aspire to as a developer. This level of quality and polish is what I strive for.
How about you?
