I bought a used macbook Air and was messing around with Chris’s code and then XCode upgraded and the 4gb RAM was too little and the minimum requirements were 8GB. I couldn’t even make a hello world app… I just cant understand the need for 8 000 000 kb of ram needed to run 84 kb of code!!! Anyway, What is the best route for me to run XCODE?
Welcome to the community.
Xcode is way larger than 84Kb. Where did you get that file size from? In fact Xcode is a very large Integrated Development Environment and requires quite a bit of RAM to run it. The Xcode 14.3.1 package occupies over 23Gb of disk space on your Mac.
Unfortunately you are going to have to bite the bullet and get a Mac that is capable of running if you are serious about learning how to create Apps. The alternative is to use a Virtual Mac online from companies like:
It’s not free and there are a number of plans to choose from.
