New Member Introductions

Hi, Kamran! Welcome to the family! Your experience is impressive and will certainly help you in your journey towards learning iOS app development. Feel free to post your question in another thread so that our technical support staff and/or other students can give their insights. Have fun!

Hello CodeCrew,

I have never built anything before this is my first attempt. I currently coordinate a apprenticeship program for a major transportation agency in the bay area of California. I have been tasked with building an app for my program, I am going to need all the help I can get. That being said, does anyone have any advice on where I should start or the best path to take to build the app for my program? The app needs to be able to either host or have links to a library of videos, documents, calendar, video chat, messaging and maybe some other functions… Like I said I could really use some direction and suggestions.

Thank you
Eric

Welcome to the CodeCrew family, Eric! You’ve come to the right place!
We have a couple of playlists on YouTube to get you started on iOS app development. I would recommend starting here http://bit.ly/LearnSwift2019 and here http://bit.ly/BeginnersPlaylist Then use this tool (approadmap.io) to know what you need to learn next!

If you got more questions, then feel free to start another thread in another category (“App Development”) so that our technical support staff can properly assist you.

All the best, and don’t forget to update us on your learning progress.

Hello everyone! My name is Bill and I am very new to SwiftUI and Xcode. Loving the tutorials so far on YouTube and learning a ton. My goal with all of this is to turn this into a career. I figured start as a freelance designer and then work for a company once I have more experience.

A post was split to a new topic: Can’t run Swift in browser

Wow, we’ve got another Chris here at CodeWithChris, haha. Welcome to the family! We’re so happy to see you progress from being a beginner to an rockstar iOS app developer. Have fun!

Hello people of Code Crew!
I am starting in on Coding with Chris and the first set of lessons has been very promising. I have been out of programming for 10 years now and I find the process of getting back at it quite intimidating. I would like to review even how to post properly and want to interact with the robot some more so I don’t mess up when posting (I haven’t done that at all in the past). I would like someone to at least get me back to the robot for a bit more practice. And to learn better how to ask for help!

Thank you for your response! It seems unusual to get attention from a forum. It is a good idea to make people on a similar quest feel welcome when they are still shaky in this process. Thanks!

Hi everyone,

I am Waheed Afolabi from Lagos, Nigeria and an Associate Software Engineer at Decagon. I am changing careers into iOS Engineering and have been watching resources provided by Chris on YT.

I am also guiding beginners on this journey as well because, beside other things, Decagon prides in training Engineers into different tech stack and iOS is one of those tech.

I joined this community yesterday and it’s been fun.

Kind regards,
Waheed Afolabi

Hello everyone,

I am Lewis and I am currently still studying but became interested in app coding from CWC on Youtube. I would love to develop my coding skills to hopefully one day become a professional app developer. I also have many aspirations for personal apps I would like to create to help myself in everyday life.
